Hey guys ... I spent my weekend with swapping the engine of my RX8! Installed a fresh rebuild! New engine is working fine and sounds nice and smooth, however i got the cell light on and sometimes it goes over to flashing! Now as ive read a flashing CEL indicates a misfire!
Since I have an FD which i have highly modified and i run 9's all around for sparkplugs with good results... and i had a brand new set of 9's lying around and after checking clearence and since other members use fd plugs aswell (although 7's and 9's) I thought id give the 9's all around a shot in the renesis and see how it works.... Sorry if i sound stupid but could that be causing a slight misfire and throwing a flashing cel?
The other issue I had when swapping the Ignition Coil Bracket from the old engine to the rebuild core one bolt snapped! I ziptied everything so that it wouldnt rattle... could that also be a reason?
Other than that i cant think of anything else... Coils are only 10k miles old.... i dont know how old the plug wires are even with the broken engine i didnt get a cel when i drove it from home to my garage! I just got the cel after the rebuilt engine install...
So before i order new plugs / wires and coils i would like to check if its just the wrong plugs that are causing the issue since they are 9's all around... Leading and trailing!?
Thx in advance
