Hello guys. 2004 JDM RX-8 with 16,000 miles.
I'm gonna get straight to it. The car starts fine in the morning. And it starts fine when home. But SOMETIMES, it doesn't start. When it doesn't start, if I take the key out, put it back in and start it, it starts up fine!
This has been happening for a while now. At first I thought it was the fuel pump, so I swapped it for a 200psi Walbro pump I brought from eBay. That fixed things for a while. I then got my fuel injectors, throttle body and intake valves cleaned at the dealer. Car felt like new afterwards. Had much more power and idled smoothly. But then on my way home from the dealer, it stalled and didn't want to start back up. I eventually got it started after a few minutes. I then found out that eBay sells fake Walbro pumps, so I took it out and got a used S1 fuel pump and assembly. That fixed it for a few days, and then the problem returned. But I feel like after cleaning the injectors, the car feels a bit odd.
I must add that way before this happened, there was a leak in my fuel tank, and my mechanic fixed it wit silicone. The car stalled because silicone went into the fuel pump housing. After that incident, I properly fixed the leak and cleaned everything. I just mentioned it thinking it may have a relation to what's happening.
Plugs are good. MAF cleaned. No misfires or rough idling. Car has power. It runs really well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated guys. I'm so lost here. Thank you!
