Screen sometimes works sometimes doesn't

Hello!

I recently bought my 2005 rx8 and the screen most of the time doesn't work (everything in red is illuminated so i can't see anything) It has only worked 3 times and I have no idea why.... any answers?

Would be nice to be able to see the time and radio station!
