In college my fiance drove a '94 miata and I was driving a 2004 Z4. Since then (jobs and house) she bought a Juke and I got an F-150. Currently (Baby) my wife now has a Durango R/T and I am jetting around in the Juke. Time for me to return to the sports car!
The list of cars I have been looking at is lengthy including WRX, BMW, EVO, Focus ST, Golf R, etc. Never did I once think about an RX-8 until I realized I don't want my next car to be too old with too many miles and I also don't want it to cost me too much.
Ta-dah. The RX-8. I have found a 2011 sport with 29,000 miles fairly close by. That's when I started to do some research. I was vaguley familiar with the rotary engine and I knew it takes a little more TLC then most cars. Thanks to RX-8 club I feel very comfortable and well informed about making a decision to purchase an RX-8.
The 8 is listed for $16,000 which I think is a bit high. I will be making my way to the dealership this Friday. I have never driven an 8 before, but I heard that they handle well. If it can handle a car seat, has no mechanical issues, and they can meet me on the price, I may be a first time RX-8 owner.
From the CarFax, all I can tell is that it was serviced at this dealership (Mazda) once yearly ~10,000 miles. Hopefully, they will have a little more maintenance info than that. I just wanted to say thanks for all the information on this site (especially the thread 'New and Potental Owners Start Here.'
Wish me luck!
