Racing Brake Big Brake Kit Review

mardi 17 mars 2015

I recently upgraded to the new Racing Brake Big Brake Kit and two piece rotors. I was having some issues with my brakes all last season and thought it was finally time for an upgrade, and was I glad I did! The calipers and lightweight two piece rotors save a total of 25 lbs, and paired with the XT910 pads this thing stops on a dime now.

The kit bolts on directly and no modification is required to fit the caliper or rotors, and it only takes about 20 minutes to install each side.

I wanted to wait until after I had a few races under my belt this season to give my full review. The only changes I have made from last season are this BBK, and an OSGiken Superlock LSD. The first event of the season I took fastest time of the day by 3 seconds out of over 150 competitors. The initial bite of the brakes felt better than any other brake system I have tried.

This past weekend I was in Cecil GA for the 2015 TireRack SCCA Dixie National Tour. I was in the first run group so the temps were just below 60, but the brakes had no issue stopping the car when I needed them too. I ended up taking the win in DSP by 2.5 seconds over the course of 2 days, and finished 10th overall in pax out of 280 drivers for Sunday(Saturday the first group ran in the wet, where the other 4 groups ran in the dry).

Overall I am very impressed with the new brake kit, and I would definitely buy it again!

For those interested, here's a link to the exact kit I am running.
