Greetings to al Rx8 Owners;
I purchased this January a 2006 RX8 GT Manual Trans with 144,000 miles. I live in Puerto Rico and previous owner purchased It from someone that imported the car from USA.
At the moment of testing the car seemed fine. It had the check engine light on and radiator coolant level sensor also is bad. Intake system had a crack in the ruber conection house.
After the purchase I installed the following parts
1. Injen Intake. (factory was broken)
2. Benet Built LS2 coil conversion
3. Benet Built MSD 8,5mm Leads
4. SSV Valve
5. Spark Plugs
6. A/C Compressor
7. A/C Front Condenser
8. Radiator cap
9. New Thermostat
10. No Cat Installed
11. Flushed radiator and new coolant
12. Previous owner installed OPL Aluminum radiator. ( seems like cheap ebay stuff)
13. Fresh Engine Oil.
To Do List
1. Radiator over flow thank
2. Under body Splash guard fabrication in aluminum ( factory Is Missing)
3. Left Radiator Fan motor (AMP are around 5 should be 7-11amp)
4. Change Manual Trans Oil.
5. Change Rear Dif. Oil
Since all of this Maintenance I still have various symptoms
1. Cooling, After I drive the car hard and stop the coolant overflow boils and it excapes.
2. Engine will start rough and have no power. After a while it will go back to normal. I can stop and start the engine normally after warm up, but if y let the engine of for 30min or more the same symptom will appear. DTC P0302 Rear rotor Misfire detected appears.
a. After finding code I checked rotor 2 spark plugs and found them slightly wet with oily residue. Cannot tell if its coolant or oil. PS: Front rotor are dry.
3. After driving for a few hours the engine loses power and hesitates around 6000rpm. If I continue driving the same will happen in 4000rpm until the engine stops, then I wait for 15 min and it will start back up. But if I stop the engine once the first symptom appears for 1-2 min upon star up the engine will continue working fine.
I have some photos and videos once I figure out the how to upload them I will update. Any Feedbak on this will be greatly appreciated.
