What's up everyone...

Loved the RX-8's since I was a senior in high school, and my buddies mom bought a brand new red '04.

Yesterday, I was browsing cars.com, and noticed a brand new listing for a 2007 Phantom Blue RX-8. 6-sp. manual transmission, and only 35k miles. Yeah. Sold. Called the dealership and talked to the internet sales manager, had her text me some photos, and told her I'd be down there the next day. Only issue I had was the 250 mi. drive to look at/test drive and buy it.

Went down, test drove, everything was gorgeous and in order, so I went ahead and took the plunge for $9,995 (plus dealer fees, tax, tag and title).

My only question for you guys: The dealership wasn't able to do a compression test, and since I live 250 miles away, I couldn't exactly bring it to my guy to have it done. But with only 35k miles on it, how much of a necessity is it to get that done? For what its worth, the car drove amazingly. Clean Carfax, one previous owner that obviously babied it.

Anyhow, info about the compression test and how absolutely necessary it is would be appreciated.
