Just wanted to go ahead and introduce myself, I'm Scott from Fort Myers, FL. I've been a rotary fan as long as I can remember, just never took the plunge. I'm starting to consider a new (to me) car and the crazy low prices on used RX8's have been tough to ignore. I know these cars are quite unique, and not without their quirks, so I wanted to join up and do some research beforehand.
A little on me, I love small, light, agile cars. Started out as a Honda guy (prior CRX, Integra, S2000, RSX-S owner), before finding Miatas. My current daily driver is a 6sp G35 sedan, it's been a great dad car but it's a bit of a tank. I'd love something I could occasionally squeeze my daughter into, but still fun to throw into a turn or take to autocross.
I'm currently wrapping up a build on what should be a daily-driveable turbo 2000 SE miata. In the past reliability and gas mileage have kind of scared me away from the RX8. Now that I should have a solid backup car to drive, a shorter work commute, and with such low RX8 prices those concerns seem less significant.
