I have what seems to be fuel starvation

samedi 11 avril 2015

First off, this is a 2005, 6 speed manual.

So this happened for the first time about a week or two ago. I was in second gear or so and I thought it happened but since it was so sudden I wasn't sure. Now that it happened a few times in succession, I can confirm that is what happened when it did it.

Well it happened to me again. I'm a 58~k miles, I run 93, and my car has been running great typically. I was driving home today and all of a sudden in second gear, it was like I took my foot off the gas for a second. It happened about two or three times in a row in second and third gear. My guess is that it might be a fuel pump or maybe the fuel filter?

No CEL. (It came on a few months ago, solid, but last time I had it checked it was just related to the A/C).

No strange noises or performance issues typically. (When going very slow, if I'm not very smooth the car is jerky but I feel like it's mostly from being new to manual.

I had driven it earlier today, drove it quite a while, everything seemed normal.

I've searched on google and on the forums, but to no avail. I'm not sure good ways to troubleshoot this type of issue, as most the ones I could find were related to misfires and I'll be honest, I don't think it was a misfire... though I'm not sure how a misfire acts on a Rotor engine.

Edit: I'd like to add a little bit more information. Since I bought the car, it's always been really easy to start cold, but when it's hot it likes to takes a couple extra seconds to start. Not flooding or anything, but starting hot it seems to struggle more (just takes longer) to crank than starting cold. I'm not sure if that may be related in any way.
