I have general rotary questions for anyone knowledgable

Hi RX8 club, Im currently in the market for a car. Ive always loved the RX8 and the rotary engine. Ive learned recently though about the common conception of unreliability in the Wankel but that hasn't turned me away. Everyone on here seems to know what they're talking about. But anyway, I'm wondering if i was to take an RX8 to a shop that I'm looking at purchasing, what are some of the things I could ask the shop to do to check on the condition of the engine. I know the compression check, but i was wondering if theres anything else i could ask them to do because i most definitely don't want to spend over 6K and have it crap out months after. If I'm gonna buy one of these cars I'm gonna make sure the Renesis is in good condition. Thanks everyone
