Thought I'd start a build thread to keep track of my progress of my new build.
It all started in 2010 when I first laid eyes and took her for a test drive. It was a 4 port automatic with 70k running a reman that had 30k on it. The reason I went auto was due to the fact that family needed to use the car from time to time. It was still my car so I had full reigns on modding. I knew it was only a matter of time before the mod bug would kick in
The first few mods were small including Jdm side markers, 6k vled lights, and got lucky to find a rear fog light
Next was performance
Aem intake cause the sound is amazing and the price I got it for was a steal at the time also a set of bhr coils and wires. Might be due for a new set since im at 100k+ on them currently
Suspension first started as tein s techs and konis, by far best suspension I'd recommend for anyone thinking of doing a spring/strut combo
Then back in last year my motor blew, apex seal shattered in both housings completely destroying everything
After that my whole build on my car came to a screeching halt. She was out of commission for about 7-8 months before finally getting some money together to get a new motor in
Then it was back to getting the car on the path I wanted it to be. Picked up a Mazdaspeed wing and a set of Powertrix coilovers to replace my already aging setup
Then a set of wheels to go with it and some tweaking to get the ride height that I wanted
For the most part I was done besides a few other aero pieces that I wanted to get, but again a deal I couldn't pass up happened. After 4 years of owning the car I was finding myself in the position most rx8 owners find themselves, the quest for more power. A 6 speed complete with everything I would need for a manual swap found its way to me at the right time
It was a GT so the upgrade to Bose tweeters and leather seats happened almost immediately
Now its time to start pulling the motor and tranny off both and get the rest of my build done. I'll be following all of RotaryResurrection's threads on the swap and the pulling of the motor. Will be keeping this updated as the progress goes on
