Excited to be part of the club

Hey guys,

I recently acquired a 2004 6MT RX8. It was sold as a non-runner, as the previous owner rebuilt the engine and then couldn't get it to start. He had it compression tested at Mazda, and they said compression was slightly low. I picked it up for a steal as a summer project (assuming I'd have to rebuild the engine).

I'll post pictures this evening, when I get the chance.

Over the last couple days, I've been running through the New Owner threads and tuning the car up. When I first got the car, I cranked it over by hand, and could only hear two out of the three "Pshhh's", so I pulled the spark plugs, cleaned them, and injected a little bit of 2 stroke oil in the ports. Now, when cranking over, it has a clear three "Pshhh's", much louder than before. That's a good sign, right?

I also fixed a bunch of vacuum leaks, and various other things. I have a new clutch line and slave cylinder in the mail, and once I swap those, I'm planning on attempting to push start it.

Any information is greatly appreciated!
