I just recently bought my 2004 rx8 and since i don't have much knowledge as far as maintenance on the car i have decided to do a simple oil change however, i know that a large portion of the oil stays in the oil cooler lines and the coolers themselves. Due to the weather here in the central valley in California which is generally quite hot i want to switch to 5w-30 oil my question is since i would only be changing a portion of the oil is it okay to do so? If so my oil will be an odd mix of 5w-20 and 5w-30. Also is it even worth it to make the switch or should i just keep the current 5w-20 oil?
