I am the original owner of this RX-8 - I bought it new in July of 2007 (lived in FL at the time). This car has a clean title, and has never been in an accident. It is a Touring model with a 6-speed manual, which includes HIDs, Bose 9 speaker audio, and the sliding sunroof. I am located in Temecula, CA.
This car is stock and in excellent mechanical condition. It's a strong runner that drives like it did when it was brand new. I have kept up on all of the maintenance, which includes the following:
-Regular oil/filter changes, oil level monitored and topped off when necessary
-Engine air filter replaced at 31,658 and again at 53,300 miles
-Cabin air filter replaced at 31,658 miles
-Spark plugs (OEM NGK Laser Iridiums) replaced at 31,570 and 52,180 miles
-Ignition coils replaced at 48,600 miles
-New tires (Sumitomo HTR ZIII) put on at 48,500 miles
-Brake pads and rotors on all four corners just replaced at 57,404 miles. Stoptech Street Performance pads (solid bite, no noise), and Centric rotors used. Brake fluid was flushed and replaced with ATE Typ 200.
The car has some rock chips as it has seen a lot of highway miles, and there are some small scratches and dings. There is mild curb rash on one of the wheels. It looks very good for the age and mileage - the paint color is very attractive in direct light, and seems to change color at night.
As with most Series Is, the coolant sensor is no longer functional. I have unplugged the sensor to avoid the dash light and taped it off with electrical tape, and I check the coolant level myself. I have never had a low coolant level or overheating issues. The OEM FL-22 coolant it uses is rated for 10 years/120,000 miles.
I also have an Audiolink (now called XCarLink) aux/iPod adapter installed, however it does not currently work since the CD player is not functioning. The stereo works fine otherwise - there are no blown speakers and the sound quality is good.
I would love to see this car go to an enthusiast, as it's very special to me and I have taken great care of it throughout the years. I'm hoping that a member here gets years of enjoyment from ownership of this RX-8, as I certainly did. This is a very nice example that's lots of fun as-is, but it can be a blank canvas for you to customize as you like!
