Hi All,
Names Drew and I am in Bolton.
Picked myself up a RX8 05 with 39k Miles on the clock this week.
After viewing the car and test driving and looking all over the car seemed fine and a good to go after all the info I found here.
THEN.... After a 60 mile journey home I stopped the car to find oh NO!!! dam thing didn't want to start. A week later the problem just kept reoccurring. Also hesitated only very slightly though on a very cold start up as the weather has been so bad.
I cam here looking for information and with all the knowledge that is around on here I have solved the problems completely.
New higher rate started motor and a much more powerful battery fitted and hey presto it has all gone away. I also did a oil change which is to my preference just to stop the oil wars. To test the hot start issue I empted the oil took her for a spin with fresh oil in for 15 miles along the motorway and dual carriage ways so the car would be nice and warm when I got her home. Turned off waited 1 minute and BOOM she fires instantly no hesitation what so ever. Then proceeded to complete the oil change with another draining and this time a new oil filter as well as more fresh oil.
I wouldn't have been able to do this if it wasn't for the information here so a big thanks as I was wondering and panicking that my RX was DEAD.
So again many thanks to all those that have posted 'How To' and 'Problem Solving' posts that have helped me on my way.
Next job is for new sparks, leads and coils.
Cheers All
Drew
