Short video showing cold/hot starts and a bit of driving:

History: I bought this car about 5 years ago from the local Mazda dealership when it had 27k miles on it. Currently it has about 69k on it. The reason I am selling is I simply do not drive it anymore. I got a new job about a year ago at the Post Office and while the RX-8 excels at many things delivering mail would not be one of them. Since I always need my other vehicle at work I can no longer daily drive my RX-8 so outside of a bit of driving on Sundays I no longer use it. I am also planning to buy a house later this year and extra money for a down payment would be helpful. Basically nothing is wrong with the car it just feels a bit silly to keep something around I never use.

Maintenance has always been completely up to date. I have all records from my ownership.

-Coils / Plugs / Wires, rear diff and transmission fluid was all last changed at 55k miles.

-Oil has always been changed every 3k

-Always 91+ gas

-Replaced front pads/rotors last year.

-Up to date on all recalls including the recent airbag one.

The only major problem I ever had was the catalytic converter failing, which I had replaced last year under warranty.

The Bad:

- Low Coolant Warning light is stuck on due to a broken sensor

- Dashboard is cracking above passenger airbag cover

- Some minor dings on the passenger side as well as a scratch on the hood.

- Carpet on the drivers side is wearing out because I hate using floor mats.

- Could use new tires. Current ones have been on the car for 42k miles. Due to the age one of them has developed a slow air leak.

- Does not have factory air pump or lug wrench

If you have any questions feel free to PM me or email me at Jacob6875@gmail.com.

I am asking $6800 for it which I think is pretty fair. Both Edmunds and KBB value the car higher in good/average condition.

Cold air intake

So, I would definitely love to turbo my 04 rx8 but I dont have the money for that. On the other hand, for better induction, a cold air intake is more reasonable money wise. Which brings me to my question, what is the best brand out there for max hp gain (I know it wont be much btw) Would rigging one up your self be possible?

2007 RX8 tech needed

New member looking for a good RX8 tech/mechanic on south side of Houston, TX.

I have a 2007 with 110k miles, flooded about 4-5 times. My current mechanic, not a rotary expert, says it's done for. It runs, but I won't drive it because last time out got me about 3 miles before cratering! I don't want to spend a lot of $, just want to be able to sell it honestly without feeling bad for the buyer!

Please advise!!

{WTB} Series 1 front bumper

I'm looking for a front bumper to a series 1, color doesn't matter much. I'd prefer something around Sacramento, CA but don't mind having to pick one up from anyone within 700mi.

Timing belt change interval?

Actually where is the timing belt I can't find it!

Just kidding....Happy April Fool's Day!

Sandpaper damage on headlight: AT CLOSE RANGE

Click the image to open in full size.

This is an extreme close up showing the abrasive damage inflicted on this headlight from operator induced abrasive cleaning. Most headlight cleaning images don't get this close so people don't get to see how damaging it is to use sandpaper on a headlight.

The problem of what to do about clouding headlights persists, as does the misinformation about how easy it is to clean them by simply using sandpaper.

Using sandpaper is more than a notion, it is time consuming and it takes lot of work and concentration.

Nobody talks about the reality of damage that is being induced, only the happy ending.

This picture shows the aftermath AT CLOSE RANGE.

Whats the best exhaust?

mardi 31 mars 2015

I saw the sticky, but most of the links on that thread were dead, an I kinda need some suggestions from people who actually own the exhaust or heard it.

I currently have a catback borla exhaust on my rx8, yeah its cool, but its not really that loud or 'cool' sounding if you will.

I want an exhaust that sounds nice and throaty, deep sounding, and well... loud basically.

I can't go catless or anything because inspection where I live is strict and all that.

So, what exhaust should I get, and can you link me to it?

BUDGET: $800!!!
