Not really a new member but..

Hey all,

So I'm not actually a new member.. been on here for many years just never posted anything.. ever.. always been on the .au site or whatever I used to use in the UK.

I thought I'd at least post an intro, being the polite chap that I am ;p

And not a new owner either actually.. I'm on my 4th, with two in the garage at the moment.. the first was a lease and that gave me the bug.. the second was my UK road and track car, only parted with it because I moved over to Australia.
Now I'm in Oz and I have a BP road registered RX8 and a second one that is about to get a REW transplant to be used as a track toy..

Anyhow, hope to enjoy the site and continue to learn from our shared experience!

I have found lots of useful information here and I appreciate the willingness to share knowledge and the effort to post DIY's, trouble shooting guides etc. Though not most computer savvy, I'll attempt to give somthing back in the form of observations and ideas I've had thus far in my newby experiences. There's no guarantee what I'm about to post hasn't been covered in one way or another...but I haven't seen them yet so I'm fairly confident this may be helpful to others as well.

{ FS } FL 2007 Manual Rx8 (Grand Touring) 89k miles, wont idle

This sucks...

I'm selling my Rx-8 with bad compression... (as told by Mazda "blown rotor"), it only has 89k miles on the body. I took care of the car and installed all of the following (everything listed is no older than 7,000 miles old) but it decided to no longer idle on me out of nowhere, it starts, revs to 9k, but will not hold idle. Every single thing works on this car but the engine...selling it as is, needs to be towed. Send as many offers as you like. OBO.

- AEM CAI intake
- TurboXS Exhaust
- BHR (Black halo racing) Resonated Midpipe
- Lowered on Tein Basis coilovers
- BHR clutch kit (Exedy Factory Clutch Kit).
- BHR lightweight flywheel and ACT CW03 Counterweight.
- AxialFlow short shifter.
- Sylfex aux mod so you can listen to music through your phone (also a ground loop isolator to stop the ground noise from entering your speakers.)
- keyless start and keyless entry and also have another normal key (2 keys total).
- Has the wires set up to plug in a Sub woofer.
- Sickspeed Shift **** and shift boot
- Powder coated oem 18 inch rims
- Vinyl Wrap on the side mirrors
- 25mm Spacers
- Brand new NGK spark plugs
- Brand new ignition coils and wires
- Transmission and Differential oil were changed with redline oil
- Brand new ac air compressor
- Brand new belts
- Tinted Windows

selling oem front bumper with lip spolier and fog lights, from my 2007 rx8, in very good shape, $400.00 takes it, look in my pics to see it, prob have some pics of the front in threads also. stock cat back exhaust, $200.00 all parts have about 64k on them, both parts are in my garage up top so only if your dead set on getting the parts i really dont have time to bring parts down, and put them back up, search my threads i might still have a old fs thread with pics, thanks john

Auto tranny fluid filter replacement?

Hey guys I wondering is there a fluid filter inside auto tran? Is it necessary to replace it when replacing whole 8 L of fluid?

{ FS } 2005 RX8 GT 6spd - white - never winter driven

Very low mileage. 69400kms
Pearl white paint 6 speed manual GT.
Price: $8900

Never winter driven. Not a single spot of rust. No dents or scratches. Underbody is clean. Immaculate inside and out.

Original owner. Covered and stored in private garage during the winters.

This is a 6 speed manual GT with Xenon HID headlights, power driver's seat, heated front seats, black leather throughout, Bose sound system, a power sunroof.

OEM front and side body kit, rear spoiler, front mud guards.
Replaced ugly orange side driving lights with OEM clear driving lights.
Aftermarket sway bars.
I had just ordered new coil packs, wires and spark plugs but haven't received the order yet.

It still has a custom fab carpc that I put in many years ago. You can view the project here:

Over time an intermittent connection has happened where the screen will turn off randomly when hitting a bump in the road. It can always be turned back on. The connection would need to be identified and fixed.

I also have brand new replacement OEM center dash part and OEM cigarette tray to allow for returning the vehicle to its original state.

I can either leave the carpc in or take it out to return to the original state of the vehicle.

A nice project to pick up and update with the latest tech.
If the new owner doesn't want the carpc, I'll consider selling separately for cheap :)

Reason for selling is because I needed to get a new winter car and so I bought a car to drive all year around instead of having multiple season cars.
