possible damage? code 2259 and 0661
Hello everyone and happy hollidays.
after musch research here on codes p2259 and after finally checking the order of wire connectors behind the UIM i FINALLY CAME ACCROSS that instead of the plugs being in order...correct me if im wrong, I noticed that instead of the top one being blue, second white and third (i believe is black) the white one was on top and the blue in the middle. Ihave had the check engine light on since I owned the first 8. I managed to pull the wire harness from behind the UIM (SKINNY HANDS) AND PUT THE BLUE ON TOP AND THE WHITE IN THE MIDDLE. i TURNED THE 8 ON AND behold! check engine light is off! Im letting it warm up. I still connected the ecm code reader and although there is no checking light on I got the p0661. Would a reverse on the plugs cause damage? I have been driving the 8 for more than 2 years with the p2259 code.
Now IM WORRIED that whoever connected the plugs the wrong way when I first got the car did not know how to recconect them. Any advice would be appreciated.

Pro's and Con's of Gutting my CAT
I've been feeling like my cat has been going out for awhile, I bought a catback and checked as much of the cat as i could while I was down there. There were pieces of my cat falling out everywhere, I decided to have my friend Rev it real good without anything attached to the cat, and honeycomb chunks blew out everywhere, I drove it real hard without any exhaust on for a couple of miles to see if I could get anymore out. I just passed my emissions, so I am good for two years.
What are the pro's and con's of just poking everything out of my cat? How much louder will it be (compared to driving with just the cat and nothing catback?)

Happy New Year! We will welcome 2015 in with a bang as we start the 8th year of the Charlotte Area Cars and Coffee at the NC Music Factory! It has been an amazing event that just gets better as we grow and continue to include new people and vehicles. It is a great outlet for the car crazed and I hope we continue to have a safe and spectacular event. This Saturday will be chilly and there is a chance of afternoon rain but hopefully it holds off and we can enjoy the morning.
Thank you to all that supported the event by purchasing T-Shirts and donations, with these funds we will be able to support the Sheriff Deputy's presence that keeps our event safe. In the past we have had gracious benefactors in the from of Foreign Cars International, NC Music Factory, Mattie's Diner and Automotive International that have really stepped up to support us, Thank you for your continued support.
Just to restate the rules for those that may have missed it or those that just need a reminder.
Here are the rules:
-Absolutely no burnouts or horse play in the lot or the roads out front. It is irresponsible and safety is a huge concern for us. This is a one strike rule!. Violators will be asked not to return and the mater will be turned over to the CMPD/Sheriff's Dept.
-The Uptown division of the Mecklenburg police department is well aware of our event and will patrol the area. Speeding and unlawful behavior will not be tolerated on the public road out front or on the NC Music Factory's property. 911 will be called if antics prevail and the CMPD will respond!
-No vendors will be allowed to set up tables, booths or tents. As before you can hand out fliers if you wish but no signage or structures allowed.
-Trailers, box trucks and haulers will be asked to use lot #2 for parking, spaces are at a premium and these vehicles take up too much space and maneuvering them around is too high a risk for accidents.
-We need to leave the facilities better than we find them on each visit. NC Music Factory is letting us use this facility free of charge so we need to respect it, there are trash cans throughout the property please do not litter.
-Parking nearest to the Diner is reserved for regular restaurant patrons. We have the other 662 spaces!
Changes:
-there will be uniformed officers stationed at two points on the property, with one being in the turn lane of the frontage road. We hope this will deter any burnouts, rapid rates of speed and general idiotic moves leaving the parking lot.
-We are asking the bystanders that stand in front of the dinner to disperse, if those leaving don't have an audience of on lookers and video cameras it will greatly decrease the incidents that are possible. There is plenty of room in the parking look to take pictures and see the cars up close.
-Removing the on lookers at the entrance also will reduce the chances of anyone getting hurt by a vehicle that looses control.

I am in need of a good public flogging. But first a little background so you all can determine my level of guilt. I am the second owner of my 04 MT. It now has 105000 miles. Bought it with 85k on the clock and today is the first time I've changed the transmission and differential oil. And to my knowledge this is the first time it has been done.
The "oil" if you can still call it that, in the transmission was grey and had a closer consistency to water. Please. Shame me. Let me be an example for others.

How loud IS the RX-8?

After 3 years of driving my RX-8, and driving it like a complete maniac, the question has finally arisen. How loud IS the RX-8?
We've all found ourselves alone in the parking garage and decided to rev the engine, but what I'm actually curious about is whether other drivers can hear it from inside their vehicles when you're flooring it through traffic. I think we can all admit the sound of the rotary engine is somewhere inbetween a sports car and a motorcycle that has hit puberty, so I'm just curious if anyone has any experience with this incredibly specific question.
Does it make the sound of a sports car to the typical driver or is it just too quiet? Stock exhaust, of course.

{ FS } Tokico D-Spec and Tien H-Tech, with Adjuster Cables
Used, Tokico D-Spec Adjustable Rate Dampers (Shocks), set of 4, adjuster cables for rears, and Tien H tech Springs. New, just over $900. Asking $400 plus shipping. The setup lowers front an inch, back is at factory height. Believe it or not, this will improve highway mileage about 1 MPG. I really enjoyed them on the track up until I started to need a stiffer spring. It was great to drive to the track in street mode (5 front and 6 rear) twist the knows (3 front and 4 rear), then go soft for the ride home. I replaced them with Coil Overs for more spring rate. I can separate them if needed, but would like to see both gone.

all my friends were getting newer cars and i wanted to have a new car also so i started looking for a rwd newer car.. not a brz/frs 2 friends already have them
then i started looking at rx8s and i grew to love them so i started looking for the cleanest and lowest miles one i could find and i found.....

Car in shop Compression problems?
I recently moved out of state and did not bring my AT 2005 RX8 with me. I wanted to have it checked out before I shipped it from michigan to California. Naturally the person I tasked thought it would be cool to start it every week and the car stalled and never started again. I assume it flooded because the battery was weak. I ordered a new battery. Mazda dealership in Kalamazoo didn't have anyone who works on rx8's so I finally found a place called Halli's Auto.
Took him a week to look at it. He said it needed new plugs. My plugs have less than 1000 miles on them. I wanted a compression test... he said there was so compression so he would wait til the morning to change the plugs to see if he can started and maybe do a test. I guess he put chemicals in it to bring up the compression. Does this sound right to anyone?

Shifter Shake
Gear shifter (6 spd MT) shakes pretty consistently. Seems to be a lot worse when idle settles down to 850-ish and pretty bad (to the touch) when shifting at high load/red line. It's there during low load and just crusing around town but not near as bad.
I've done a couple hours of looking around and seems to be a common result of motor mounts going out. However the rest of the car is solid as a rock and doesn't vibrate at all.
Also note, the other day I jacked up the car to look at the underneath just making sure things were looking generally ok and wanted to check out the exhaust system. While I was down there I noticed the transmission had "36k" written in yellow paint on it. I'm assuming the transmission was swapped out but no solid proof yet. (waiting a bunch of paperwork from the dealership that the previous 2 owners kept logged) - Would this have anything to do with it as well?

Detailed MS body kit pictures?
So I ordered a carbon fiber MS replica front bumper and its going to take a couple months to get/make. What I'm wondering is if anyone had really detailed pictures of what the inside of the bumper and side skirts look like so I can try to get the mounting hardware right. It'd be great if someone had measurements for the brackets that attach to the undertray. Thanks in advance.
New A arms, no where to mount brake lines
So I just bought new adjustable front A arms, they werent cheap either. They recommended I switch to SS lines when I install the arms and I just noticed why.
They have no attachment for the brake lines, I'm assuming its because they're adjustable and the mounting position would be different depending on the length.
and this what I'm talking about in case I wasn't too clear, as seen on my oem arms.
I'm not too savvy when it comes to brakes, so any input on whats going on, buying new SS lines/ mounting or installing would be great. My car is up on stands for the winter and pretty torn apart, so it should be simple to do.

Hey! I'm new to this forum. I'm actually at bimmerforums, but I joined for a question that has my friend really worried. He owns a 04 rx8, but last time we decided to go to pep boys to do a quick oil change. An hour passed and we get a call from the mechanic that we have water in the oil and can't do the change.
The end of the day we decide not to do it and we head back home, I looked a couple of forums about what might cause it. The thing is that the car doesn't overheat nor makes weird stuff at all though it has trouble starting it, sounds like he might need a new battery. Some of the forums say that it's because of the cold weather and some type of chemical reaction happening, I can't really remember what the forums said. Anyways, I'll leave some picture and you guys decide what can it be, thanks for the help. My friend does not speak English so that's why I'm posting this for him. Thanks in advance! :D

HELP!! Funny engine sound!
Hey everyone,
So I recently acquired a Metra kit and new deck, I have been doing the install over the last few days because I haven't had to drive my car. So I went to start my car, found the battery dead due to testing the new radio and making sure everything works a couple times plus I think its a bad battery. Anyways so I jumped my car and after it was running for about 10 seconds I noticed a funny noise coming from the front of the engine that i've never heard before.
To sum it all up, my car had been sitting for 5 days, in my garage, outside there had been a 20 degree temp. drop across these days due to a snow storm coming in. Go to start, has dead battery, jump it and now it is making a noise that sounds like a vacuum leak to me.

codes contradicting each other?
04 rx8 130k. I got a few codes bank 1 lean cleared code. Then bank 1 misfire. Very heavy white smoke only twice within 2 months, smells like fuel no sweet smell. but not while codes come up. After driving from tx to ca made it to ca Driving at 4500 rpm. push gas peddle while driving. engine slowly revs down to 0. Would not start. After 10 min it would start and run fine no smoke. new spark plugs 2 weeks old, coil packs 1 year old. Car sounds like an exhaust leak at high rpm under load. Took it to two different exhaust shops. Both said they think it's coming from the engine. resonator has been removed. Aftermarket generic cat not gutted 1 year old. Oil is a little above full. Not full enough to be a concern I think. The dealership is lost. They just say replace the engine, coil packs, spark plugs, and wires.but can't tell me why. Spark plugs are brand new. They say because of the white smoke. No compression tests were done. Could this be an injector malfunction?
Bought an S2 Differential
Just bought an S2 differential to put into my S1 soon. I found the price to be more than reasonable considering how expensive and rare these units are. I'm providing the link below just to get some additional opinions from you guys with all the pictures in there. The assembly has 81,000 miles and according to the seller, it has no problems.

Now that the stereo works, my volume is almost on MAX but there is little volume coming through all speakers. They are all working but very very quietly.
I do have a parts car i just bought so I can replace the amps but where the hell are they?

OEM HID Question

So my car came standard with the oem HIDs. I sold my custom headlights that were originally oe hid, the person gave me cash plus his headlights. But it turns out he did not have the factory hid setup. To me this is okay because I'm tearing the projectors etc all apart, all I needed was the housing.
My question is: Where are the oem hid ballasts located? Are they part of the car or in the hid headlights? I noticed my old hid lights had one more plug than these, which I read is the auto leveling unit (3 prong triangle black connector).
Is the 2 wire small connector right next to that triangular plug standard 12v or has it already been through a ballast?
The answer to this will determine how I make my next lights. If the power is already converted by the time it reaches the lights I can just hook it directly up to new HID projectors (I believe), if not I'll need aftermarket HID ballast.

Help choosing rotors!
I need to replace my rotors, it's been five years and they're done. I already bought pads before I knew the rotors were done, so now I have pads and no rotors. My track days are done, and my daily drive is now 15 minutes a day instead of three hours a day, so I want drilled and slotted just for looks, basically. :sad: I don't want to spend a ton of money, just what it takes for decent quality stuff. I've been looking online and just can't sort it all out... help a buddy out? Thanks! :kiss:

Hello, I don't know enough about cars to understand everything that is going on and admittedly that's the main issue but I was hoping that you guys might be able to help me find a solution to the problems my car is facing.

2004 MT 6 speed GT 79k close to me
There is a 04 MT GT with 79k for sale locally (Northern Indiana) at a car lot. This is not my car but I seen it and it's pretty clean. Black cherry color paint, tinted windows, 18 or 19" black/polished mb racing wheels. Clean leather seats, Bose. They have it for sale at $6900 can probably be bought for way less.
If anyone is interested I can get some pics and test drive to see if it's even worth your time.

Looking into buying a REX! Got a few questions

I'm looking into buying a RX-8 and a have a few questions about it:
1) I noticed that the 2004/2005 years are more problematic than all the other years above it. This being due to several reasons like the ECU software that initially came with the car wasn't optimal and caused problems therefore new software had to be reflashed being most problematic since it harmed the engine in the long term. Should I stick to 2006 and above in order to reduce risk? Also, roughly, how much less risk comes to buying the other years (with respect to the 1st gen not 2nd gen because I can't afford that lol)
2) I recently looked at a Mazda RX-8 (which can be found here) and after seeing it everything checked out to be fine (motor ran great, started up fine cold and warm, etc.) however, there was a significant amount of rust at the bottom front fender next to the door. Is this a common rust spot? And should I avoid this RX-8 for this reason or should invest into having it cut and a fresh piece welded in place? How much can I see myself spending into doing that? Both sides have this issue, one side worse than the other, it hasn't ate through the metal but the paint is fully stained of rust and its rough. This car still has its manufacturers warranty intact!
3) I noticed a few RX-8s have 3rd party warranty coverage available to them (ex. Autogard, Lubrico, etc.), is anyone familiar with it and is it worth it?

MAF Scaling/Resistor Mod spreadsheet/ cheatsheat.
Merry Christmas guys. Here is a cleaned up version of what I used to get in the ballpark on MAF scaling. It's set up for the stock maf sensor and can be used to change the diameter of the housing as well as add voltage dividers. Every value intended to be changed is in teal and everything else is color coordinated by section.
MAF diameter is non unit because it's ratio driven so you can use inches or mm, resistance values are also non unit for the same reason. There are a lot of unknowns so this is not going to churn out the perfect numbers, but it will get you within some easy calibration of the real values.

Mechanic needed!!
My rx-8 recently gave up on me in the way that when I try to start it all it does is make a whirring sound like power is getting to the starter but it won't turn over. I need help identifying this problem and finding a mechanic in Fayetteville nc. I'd like to try and stay away from the Mazda dealership if possible but this car is my main mode of transportation.

Lost all stations and unable to pick anything up with a retune. Audio working fine.
This suggests to me that it's something to do with the antenna and/or cable between it and the radio and/or the way it's plugged into the back of the radio??
Or could it be the RF front-end of the radio gone doolally?

So I decided to stop using my project car as my daily driver and I bought an 05 rx-8.
I'm going to keep it fairly stock rather than doing anything for speed since I already have a plaything I use for speed alone.
However, I am interested in making this thing look gorgeous. I'm planning on lowering it of course, maybe add a rear window visor thing (I don't exactly know what that's called or how to explain it but I know what I'm thinking of haha). Definitely going to change up the paint once the weather warms up too.
I also definitely want to change my stock wheels. I want to go with a deep dish but I'm not really finding many options or any definitive info through searching on here or anywhere else for that matter.

Hi guys, I'm a Saab fan, but also have been interested in the RX-8 for a while. My aunt has one, and thats how I learned how to drive a standard transmission. I've been thinking about putting my 2002 Saab 9-3 Convertible for sale in the spring and purchasing a used RX-8.
My local mechanic has an RX-8 for sale. It's a 2004, he bought it off a kid who somehow drove it onto someone's yard denting the door. He's selling it for $5000, but it needs 4 new tires, AND it has 141,000 miles on it. Supposedly the engine was replaced 20,000 miles ago by Mazda under warranty, but regardless, I think thats to much. Even $4000 with new tires seems like a lot for the mileage.
What would you pay for a used 2004 RX-8? with under 100,000 miles?

Humid conditions boosting preformance.
Hello,i'm on holiday in Durban with my Rx8(stock) and i've noticed an increase in preformance in these humid conditions,it seems my rx8 is alot louder(sounds like the new chevy lumina s),and has gained a significant amount of power.I want to know of there is any way I can make my 8 run like it is currently once I have returned home.Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated,thank you.

Low compression on a motor
Hi! I have a 2005 rx8. So I recently went on vacation for a week and gave a remote start to my sister so that she could warm it up once a day. When I come back, the car doesn't start. Put in new battery, new sparks, still nothing. Mechanic did compression test and says that there is low compression on a motor. What's the best way to go around it? Rebuld the engine or just scrap this one and get another one. But I really want to keep this one. Ive grown very attached to it and I cannot just scrap it. Please tell me what options do I have. Mechanic says that he will need to get into this moyor to see whats wrong with it but I think it will be easier to just get a new motor than trying to fix this one.

So to start, I know this should probably go to general Automotive but I dont have privileges to post anywhere else.
DD car, 04 dodge neon standard transmission. Just under 230000 miles (Yes, I'm surprised its still running too)
1st gear - 3rd are ok, 4th gear has absolutely no power, 5th gear is lacking but still has some. When I say has no power i mean it's the equivalent of driving 15 mph in 5th gear. Completely bogs down even though it's at 2.5-3k rpms.
Going to try doing a full tune up and change transmission fluid this weekend see if that helps, but figured I'd throw up a quick post and get some other opinions before I took it to a mechanic.

Checked all of the fuses
Checked all of the grounds
Checked the forums for a similar issue with no luck
Everything else is working. Fuel pump works just fine.

The car is used as my daily driver. I use it to go to work and transport my daughter. So reliability was a huge factor in the mods I did. I wanted it to be sporty, but yet safe and comfortable at the same time.
Now, there are some things wrong with it.
Some ******* keyed the side of it. I'm going to have it detailed before I sell or trade it so I'll try to have them take care of it the best they can.
Currently it needs a larger fuel line going from the pump to the hatch in the gas tank.

Honestly, I'm tired of german cars. When they work, they do so brilliantly. This one has been pretty good it's life. I'm just used to japanese cars and rotaries. I miss them.
If we trade, or you buy this, here's what I'll do - I have a VAGcom cable. If you ever run into problems you can swing by my friends house (where the cable resides) and we can scan the car to see exactly what the problem is. Thats one the beautiful things about VAG cars (if you're new to them.)
The common problems on this car have been dealt with. Aftermarket coil packs, the timing belt was done at 90K (needs to be done at 100k) turbo was replaced.
I'm located in Lake stevens WA. Let me know if you're interested.

Getting the 5.125 rear end should I also replace the lsd
The 5.125 is already pricey enough, but would it be worth while to get the os giken lsd and be done with the diff?

Been around about 5 years when I need a reference, but time to post...
I have a 2005 bought with 26000 miles on it. 5 years later it is up to 46000 miles. Here's where it gets..... Interesting. The wife and I don't drive it much as you can see. You all can imagine my surprise when I took it in for it's last service. we are nearing the end of our warranty so i told the Mazda guys to go through it. I knew the climate control needed replaced, but found out it also needed front and rear sways, new motor mounts, new cat-convert, and surprise-surprise... A NEW MOTOR! AT 46000 MILES!!! I'm really glad I got the warranty. See pics. AHHHH! So after reading over and over I picked up a BHR midpipe and ignition system. Mazda was nice enough to install them for me when they reassemble the 8.

i have done alot reading from this forum and it has really helped me alot. I managed to fix alot of this in my rx8 esp the power window and other stuff just by reading :) .
Just a intro, im chris and i bought my rx8 earlier this year, its a 2004/2005 model with about 65,000km++, im the third owner of the car and judging from her state she wasnt really taken good care of. that was till i bought her, fixed most of the problems such as rough idling, power windows not working, replace 2 ignition coils, etc. and i just love how she handles.
well enough about that, i got one problem now and i really need all the help and advice i can get. two days ago i send it for some general servicing (still got free servicing package and parts) and since its the only place where i can have it lifted i just did some inspection on my own. i notice somewhere around the propeller shaft(the one long pipe that connects from the tranny to the diff) somewhere in between there is an oil leak, now im not sure the extent of the leak although the mechanic says its just not bad (to me any leak is bad, small or big).
now i just need to know if the shaft that connects to the tranny has any kind of rubber seal, and if so, have you guys ever has such leaking problems? and if any of you who are working on your trannys can show me some pics of how it looks like?. i will post up some pics of the leak just to show you guys but for now any advice would do. Also im quite tempted to take it apart just to see where the leak is actually coming from.

Funny noise (not the fans) after ignition off
Hi All,
Had my 8 for a few years (previously Rx7 Series 1, and Turbo II conv), and about a year back noticed a slight motor type sound coming from low on the RHS in the engine bay after ignition off. Recently it has got louder, and lasts longer, with additionally a similar but shorter noise when the ignition goes on. I wasn't initially worried since it sounds very much like some sort of actuator, but since it now lasts longer, and seems louder and somhow less 'normal', just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what it might be? I did ask my garage (RX8 specialist), but they say they have never heard it before. We changed the airpump in case, but it made no difference.
PS. I did do a search, but only found threads relating to the fans, which this CLEARLY isn't.

05 Wont Crank after sitting 6 weeks
I have searched for almost 2 hours and cant find any answers so I am hoping someone can help. I will try to keep this as short and sweet as possible. I have an 05 automatic with 86k miles. I put in a new, upgraded starter at the end of September. I drove my car last on October 31, for several hours, off and on (50-60 miles total), came home with the gas gauge on empty and parked it. It got super cold and icy, so the car sat for about 4 weeks. We tried to start it with no luck. I added 2 gallons of gas, hooked it up to another car with some jumper cables, tried a few more times, ended up getting it to start, it had a very rough idle and died (I think it was flooded). The car sat 2 more weeks. I put a few more gallons of gas in it, charged the battery, then hooked up the battery to some jumper cables for some extra amps, and tried to start it, but it wouldn't crank, it just makes a funny whining noise. We held the gas pedal down and cranked several times, but there is no difference in sound or the way the car is acting. It refuses to crank, it doesn't even try. The belts are turning, but it sounds like the starter isn't engaging, it is just freely spinning. I know the starter worked fine, because the car started fine before it was parked. This is my first rotary, and I don't know a ton about them. Any suggestions?
ETA: I just got the car in July, and don't know the history on what has or has not been done, other than the starter, a new radiator, and a new coolant reservoir. I do have hot start issues that were not resolved with the new starter (hoping and praying for them to be fuel pump issues, rather than compression issues). I am wanting to do a compression test, but can't do that until I can get this stupid car running!

Was driving a good distance near the end of my path my car rpm faltered and loss of power usually at 6500 rpms or when take is lower seems to do it anywhere. It failed completely to the point now where it won't turn over hardly and maintain idle. When turning over and kekein on position new noises are noticed. A humming when turning to on position while under the hood I noticed a type of noise I can't quite describe. Can anyone help me

{ FS } Mazdaspeed Body Kit
Okay, well I'm finally going to sell my Mazdaspeed body kit. I had originally purchased it when I was doing track days and wanted to mount a front air splitter, but ended up moving and have not been back to the track (or see getting there any time in the near future). Then the engine blew, so I'm in the expensive rebuild process and at this point would rather have the cash.
This is the real deal, Mazda parts, new in the box (NOS), never mounted, no scratches, all parts including mounting hardware, instructions, tape, tabs, etc.
Individual pieces are listed in the posts below. I would prefer to sell it as a set locally, but will consider breaking it up.
Payment and transfer can be handled one of two ways:
1) Local pickup for cash.
2) Escrow sale and freight shipping (exception: the wing can probably be shipped non-freight).
If you choose to go with option 1, parts are located on the north side of Atlanta.
If you choose to go with option 2, buyer will pay for half of escrow charges (escrow.com, I will pick up other half of the charges), actual shipping, plus $100 to crate/palletize the parts. I will ask for an extra $50 in freight charges up front, the difference to be refunded when I know the exact freight charges, probably the day the parts actually ship. Payment and transfer can be handled one of two ways:
1) Local pickup for cash.
2) Escrow sale and freight shipping (exception: the wing can probably be shipped non-freight).
If you choose to go with option 1, parts are located on the north side of Atlanta.
If you choose to go with option 2, buyer will pay for half of escrow charges (escrow.com, I will pick up other half of the charges), actual shipping, plus $100 to crate/palletize the parts. I will ask for an extra $50 in freight charges up front, the difference to be refunded when I know the exact freight charges, probably the day the parts actually ship. Expect freight shipping charges to be $400-600 for continental US.

04 rx8 wont start
Hi so i did do some searching but I have a few questions specific to my situation...
So my car is 04 MT, its been sitting for a few months, drivin every now and then. Last ran a week ago. Now it wont start, it is cranking. Today I tried to start it, i cranked it for about 8-10 seconds. So I got my battery charger which has a starting mode which provides 160 amps.
So i believe its flooded at this point, when i try to start it with the jumper starter hooked up, it just cranks.. fast. I tried holding in the gas and cranking for 10 seconds... didn't start. After that I tried starting for about 10 seconds without gas held in and it didn't start.
Any advice? Is it flooded? How safe is using the 160 amp jumper? I'm worried if I try to start it with the gas held in and the engine revs up it could be dangerous for the battery? How long should I wait between attempts?

PLZ HELP ! Mazda RUINED MY CAR
Hey guys ! Im new to the forum because I recently brought my car to get spark plugs and oil change to travel across country. Picked up my car drove it across the street and haven't been able to start it sense. Its turning over fast and trying to start, smoke coming out of muffler and lights in car turn on. Mazda Doesn't think they messed up my car and refuse to fix it. I brought it in there in top shape.
I am wondering if they could have put the spark plugs in the wrong firing order which would cause it to start the one time but not again.
Also, they put conventional oil in my car when it clearly takes synthetic since day one which i told them, and told me up and down i was wrong.
I really need help on this one guys! might be a law suit here if they don't fix it.

I have always been a fan of the rotary Mazdas..
I've owned a couple 1st & 2nd gen RX-7's. . now, I've finally picked up my 1'st 8.
I've been building 3000GT 's for the last few years, and I don't think I could part with my VR4, but am super excited about my new (to me) RX-8!
Now I'm off to the classifieds to shop for some parts.

I'm at 75% thinking about getting a rx8. Heard some bad and good things about it. Tell me what's the best part about getting an rx8 and I will get one.

Gas prices are already a gift from above and all of us will give up a couple bucks to drive it like we stole it once in a while.
I have been without mine due to an accident and the dealer taking there sweet *** time to fix it.
So here's the point of my thread the rental company gave me a 2015 Toyota Corolla S. This is a four door, four banger trying to be a sports car. Where we have a real sports car that just happens to have 4 doors.
This car is a joke, fun factor is 2/10 and there is one at every corner.
They even make a feeble attempt to make it faster with the sport button that increases the rpm's by 500.
And paddle shifters that are even slower than ours and you have to shift 2500 rpm sooner ha ha!
I can't wait to get mine back, I have more fun driving it than both my 7's (except sunny days when the top on my vert can be down).

Loss of power in my rx8
Hey guys im new to this forum and i cant post on troubleshooting so i need help. a while back i got a p0420 code and it came on and i deleted it and it never came back. so recently i got my spark plugs, ignition coils, and wires replaced at 45k and yes i know thats bad and i dont believe they were replaced before because i bought the car at 23k miles. as soon as i replaced these i got a major loss in power and a little hesistation came up today. i believe its either cat or compression loss. let me know what you guys think
{WTB} Broken S2 Front HID Headlight
Just incase anyone has a wrecked S2 that has headlights that are cracked or whatever. As long as the internals are salvagable.

I have a 2004 RX8 MT moon-roof , I am looking to redo the brakes , need new pads , I see on eBay a co in Canada that is offering new rotors and pads at a good price . But they exclude 2004 RX* with sport suspension . How can I tell what I have ?
What do I look for ? What difference is there in stock suspensions ?
Finally got home link programmed !!!
Was able to check gas mileage . 18.7 MPG , 40% hyw and 60% intown ..
New coils and plugs wires sure helped that !
