Stock Sport Suspension 2005

jeudi 1 octobre 2015

2005 RX8, 18 inch wheels, Stock sport suspension and it squats badly in the rear, new tires PZero all season plus, 20K on a new engine warranty.

This is my wife's daily driver. She is track certified but does not drive around with her hair on fire. I was detailing the other day and noticed the squat. The right rear shock was very wet. front camber is factory set at 0. Rear camber measured from ride height change is over -1.5 degrees. The shock is done.

My wife does not want to lose the ride comfort she currently have but wants a little less dive or roll into a corner. She has no desire to lower the car. If she does not know I wont tell her.

Question: Is there a spring, shock or Sway combo that would provide these traits that is better than the mazda stuff.

Question: Will the stock springs keep the car at the stock ride height without the shock? I am trying to figure out if I need new springs in the rear anyway.

Thanks in advance everyone.

New Owner - Auckland

Morning All, just bought our first RX8 and in fact our first rotary.

Still getting used to the change in driving style with the higher revs, already realised that the Auto is not ideal unless on the motorway :yesnod:

Anyway looking at most of the threads the forum does not seem very active.....but no doubt I'll get some info with searching published threads.

Cheers :ylsuper:

COBB AccessPort

Sorry for starting the already started thread but I want to see if anyone can give me an in depth analysis of ALL the perks of the AccessPort and what benefits it can bring to a stock RX8, a lightly modded rx8 (exhaust system, air filter, fuel injectors, etc), and a fully modded (bridge/street ported, upgraded fuel system, perfect race street tires *not slicks*, turbo, etc) RENESIS engine. I wanna know all the upsides for the Renesis cause that's the engine I'm working with. I know a good bit about the AccessPort and what it can do but I'm looking for someone to clear up all the question I ask myself about it . Is it really this so called amazing tuneing device or is it only good up to a certain point . I'm sorry if this is considered a "dumb thread" or its one that's been asked a million times I'm just trying to solve the whole problem at one time I wanna know the limits it can go or if it's limitless . If there's anyone that is like RotaryGod when it comes to knowledge about this I would really appreciate if you explained it all to me . I know it's a long question to answer but this would really clear thing up for me and I'm sure it would help a lot of other people too !

K member for an RX8 ?

Does anyone know if there's a lightweight member for the 2004 RX8 ? I'm trying to get an edge but I can't find one but I'm not sure if I'm looking in all the right places . Or has anyone made one themselves ? If so can I have instruction and pictures ? Thanks !

Recommended PSI for Low Profile tires?????

My 2007 Rx8 is riding on OHTSU FP7000 225/45 r 18's, they still have plenty of tread but i have noticed within the last 1000 miles of riding that i am getting a tremendous amount of hydroplaning during rain. I have put less than 4000 miles on these tires since i got the car and i had no problem in the rain when i first began driving the car. The recommended amount of psi for the car is 32 and that is what i have in the tires, is that rule still the same if the tires are low profile? Do i need less psi? Any helpful advice is appreciated. Thank you!

p.s. This is my first experience with this brand of tire, so it may be that they are just poor tires as far as handling goes. Any advice on the tire brand is appreciated as well.

Power loss issues

When driving, I continually experienced power loss issues in the upper RPM band. It seemed like someone was cutting the throttle or applying the brakes.

After turning off DSC, everything is better.
